Chapter 1692 Brothers Are All Like This
"We're already married. Having children is the next logical step. I don't care how much you resist me now. Anyway, I have no intention of divorcing you," Julia said firmly, looking at him. "Of course, unless the day comes when you can divorce me."
"You're simply unreasonable."
Elliott left again.
But this time, he was very flustered and shocked.
He truly hadn't expected that Julia would want to have his child, and with such strong determination.
The Miller Group.
In the spacious office, a small executive meeting was being held.
Elliott sat on the far right sofa, his chiseled and handsome face as distant and indifferent as ever. But today, he stared at the documents in his hand for a long time, seemingly out of it.
"Mr. Elliott Miller, Mr. Elliott Miller."
After being called several times, Elliott suddenly snapped back to reality and looked up to find several executives staring at him.
The one calling him was Elisha Fife, the sales department manager sitting next to him. Elisha coughed and leaned slightly towards him, lowering his voice, "Mr. Luke Miller mentioned the $50 million balance from Elite Structures Group and asked for your opinion."
Elliott quickly understood. Elite Structures Group had been delaying the payment for almost half a year. "I had someone look into it. Elite Structures Group received incorrect information earlier and bought a piece of land at a high price, causing a break in their cash flow. Even if we pursue it through the courts, the result will likely be property compensation. But as I understand it, several of Elite Structures Group's properties are overpriced due to local policies and aren't selling."
"So even if we get a bunch of properties back, they're useless," Lavern Almanza from the finance department said, very frustrated.
Elliott said, "Actually, there's another way. We can use that debt to buy shares. I had someone analyze it. The land they bought for $200 million isn't worth that much, but if developed, it could make back several hundred million dollars. The problem is that Elite Structures Group doesn't have the funds to start."
Lavern was troubled. "Mr. Elliott Miller, you mean we not only can't get back the $50 million but also have to invest more to help Elite Structures Group? Let me remind you, we're not familiar with real estate, and the company is currently in a rapid expansion phase. We don't have that much money."
"Isn't there an $80 million balance due in a few days?"
Elliott raised an eyebrow. "We only need to invest $50 million. In two years, we can make at least $150 million. We can reach an agreement with Elite Structures Group to withdraw our investment after the project is completed. If any issues arise during the project, they must compensate with land. Given the current situation, they will agree. I suggest sending a team to investigate."
"Not only investigate but also budget analysis."
Luke nodded. "Elliott, I'll leave these matters to you."
After the meeting, the executives gradually left.
As Elliott packed up, Luke said earnestly, "Elliott, I won't be coming to the company every day anymore. You'll be in charge of the company's affairs, so you must control the big picture. Don't be too aggressive; proceed steadily."
"Dad, don't worry. The company has built almost everything it needs. We've signed contracts with dozens of major companies, and it's a period of capital return. There won't be any problems."
"Yes, why didn't you come home last night? I heard you drank too much during a social event?"
"Yes, I slept in the apartment." Elliott was a bit troubled about how to tell his parents he wanted to move out.
"You've been working hard lately. Go home tonight and let your mom make some soup for you."
Luke patted his shoulder. "Don't just focus on work. You should find a girlfriend. Your mom is anxious."
Elliott remained silent.
The Jude Group.
After a video conference with Serenitia, the secretary quickly brought a document for Julia to sign. "Julia, the commerce department invited you to a seminar at 7 PM."
"Let Aaron go," Julia said while signing. "Unless it's very urgent, cancel my evening work."
The secretary was so shocked she didn't react for a moment.
She had been with Julia for five years and knew Julia was a workaholic.
"Okay."
The secretary responded in a daze.
Half an hour later, Aaron walked in. "Julia, the seminar invited you. Why should I go? I have a dinner date with my girlfriend tonight."
"Didn't you break up?" Julia asked.
"I have a new girlfriend now," Aaron said with a straight face.
Julia was speechless. While she worked hard, Aaron had changed girlfriends countless times. "You should date less and spend more time on work. You're still young. Now that Mom and Dad are taking care of Michael, I can't handle the entire company alone. I don't trust anyone else."
Aaron felt a bit guilty. It seemed he had the easiest time in the family, but he also wanted to cry. "Don't you usually fill your evenings with work? Since you don't date, let me date more. Maybe I'll find someone to marry soon."
Julia closed her pen and smiled. "Maybe by then, I won't even see your spouse."
Aaron was startled. "Julia, are you feeling unwell?"
"I work overtime until eleven or twelve every night. Even a strong person can't handle it," Julia said calmly. "Besides, you're my subordinate. It's only natural for me to assign you work."
"Alright." Aaron's handsome face was full of sadness and helplessness. "Indeed, to wear the crown, one must bear its weight."
Julia remained silent.
She couldn't understand why her brothers were like this. Michael was unprincipled, and Aaron just wanted to slack off.
How unfortunate she was to be their sister.
"By the way, Julia, you're not young anymore. If you get off work early, you should find a boyfriend," Aaron began to encourage. "Garth Tovar is good. He's always had a crush on you. Your husband has been dead for so long. You can't stay single forever. Besides, with your husband's health, you probably never even had sex with him."
"Aaron." Julia's delicate face darkened.
"I'm just stating the facts," Aaron pouted. "I'm only thinking about your happiness. No matter how strong you are, you need a man by your side."
"Stop talking nonsense. Also, there's nothing between Garth and me. We're just business partners," Julia warned. "Get out and don't disturb my work."
"Got it, got it. I'm leaving."
Aaron quickly slipped out. Once outside, he secretly took out his phone and sent a message to Garth on Facebook.
