Chapter 1243 Mother and Daughter Reunion

Olivia was like, "Mom, looks like you and Declan are having some beef. He's been crashing in the study. Not cool for a married couple to be sleeping apart for too long; it's gonna mess with your vibe. I read that in a bunch of books. Just saying, be careful."

"Alright, you don't need to stress about me and Declan," Isabella replied, kinda zoned out. "How'd it go at the Hernandez group this morning?"

"I tried to check out the lab and factory, but Joseph had Dragon's crew block me. It pissed me off," Olivia said, clearly annoyed. "I didn't wanna push my luck. Yesterday, Cassie smacked me so hard my face still hurts."

Seeing Olivia's face caked in foundation, Isabella felt a surge of anger.

Thinking her daughter had been pushed around by Cassie again, Isabella said, "Next time, take more people with you. If you run into Cassie, give her a taste of her own medicine."

"Mom, thanks. No one treats me as well as you do," Olivia said, looking touched. "But I heard Cassie didn't show up at the office this afternoon, and Joseph's acting all smug. I wonder if they have some other plan."

"As long as I'm here, what are you worried about? Just go for it." Isabella patted her hand reassuringly.

"Thanks, Mom." After Olivia left, Isabella's beautiful face turned gloomy.

Cassie didn't go to the office, Declan coincidentally went out, and Joseph seemed very confident.

Could Declan have gone to meet Cassie?

This suspicion surged up, and Isabella couldn't shake it.

She immediately called her bodyguard, "Find out where Declan went."

In the coffee shop, Cassie sat by the floor-to-ceiling window, waiting for over ten minutes before she saw Declan and Everett roll in together.

"Declan, Everett," she stood up immediately and greeted them politely.

"Cassie, why'd you ask my dad to come over?" Everett greeted her like they were old pals.

"Please sit down. I didn't know what you like to drink, so I didn't order anything," Cassie said, opening the menu.

"A cup of coffee will do," Declan said as he sat down, crossing his long legs like he owned the place.

"My dad doesn't like sugar, but I'll have extra sugar," Everett said with a grin, waving his hand. "You two chat; I gotta hit the restroom."

After ordering three cups of coffee, Cassie cut to the chase. "Declan, you promised me last time that you could help save a life."

"Your life?" Declan's gaze locked onto Cassie's face. Last time he saw her, she was glowing, but now she looked like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders.

"No." Cassie shook her head. "It's Joseph."

Declan raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Do you know how valuable my promise is? You might regret using it on someone else."

After all, Joseph wasn't even her husband but a guy who had hurt and betrayed her.

"Nothing to regret," Cassie said with a bitter smile. "Lately, some nutjob's been throwing cash around to buy up a chunk of the Hernandez group's shares. I know there's a big player gunning for us. Joseph wants to stick around, partly 'cause he can't stand to see the company he busted his butt for go down the drain, and partly to make sure me and the kids have a way out. He doesn't give a damn about his own safety, but to me, he's the man I love and the father of my kids. When I leave, Declan, I hope you can save him."

Declan's face darkened.

The nutjob Cassie mentioned was Isabella, which made Declan uneasy, but he had to admit Isabella's moves were pretty wild.

Cassie probably didn't realize he was the big player behind the scenes, so she spilled her plan to him.

"Are you sure you can leave safely?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Cassie pressed her red lips together. She couldn't exactly tell him she was planning to bounce on Cameron's private jet.

"Let's see how it goes. If I can leave, I will. If not, I'll just lose my life. I just hope that person has a shred of humanity left and won't harm innocent kids," Cassie said with a bitter smile. "But that person probably has no humanity left."

Thinking it over, Cassie shook her head, still worried. "Declan, if I don't make it out, please save my two kids. I know that's asking a lot, but they're just three years old."

Declan felt a bit uneasy hearing this. "That's not necessary. Whoever started this mess should deal with the fallout. It shouldn't drag the next generation into it."

"Some people are just rotten to the core and don't care if they're kids because they have no humanity or conscience," Cassie said with a sarcastic smile.

Declan frowned deeply.

No humanity or conscience?

Was she talking about Olivia, Isabella, or herself?

But clearly, Cassie was the one who caused Natalie's death, pushed Olivia to the edge, pretended to be Isabella's daughter, acknowledged Aiden as her father, and even took over Isabella's old company. Yet every time he looked at her, Declan inexplicably forgot all the things she had done. He couldn't believe Cassie could be such a malicious person.

"Declan, so you're here." A cold, angry voice suddenly cut through the air.

Declan's heart skipped a beat. He quickly turned around and stood up.

Isabella, in high heels, had a face full of rage and fury.

She really didn't expect that as soon as Declan went out, he'd come to see Cassie.

They were even sitting in a coffee shop, talking so seriously.

A wave of uncontrollable jealousy surged up in Isabella's heart.

Especially when she saw Cassie, who looked even more beautiful and younger in person than in the photos she had seen on her phone. Cassie really did look a lot like her younger self.

It was Cassie that made Declan sneak out to meet her again and again and highlighted Isabella's lost youth.

It was her that attracted Declan, making him no longer coax Isabella as he used to.

Isabella stormed over.

Cassie watched her approach, her pupils dilating.

The woman in front of her, with a face as beautiful as a red rose, she had seen not long ago in Aiden's photos. The former Isabella was sunny and vibrant.
