Chapter 1041 Cassie Was Pushed In
"If I get involved in this, it's gonna be embarrassing for the Dixon family, the Jude family, and Joseph too."
Derek awkwardly explained, "With so many people here tonight, Marigold wouldn't dare do this without Ralph and Ophelia's okay. The Dixon family spoils her rotten. The Dixons and my dad are tight now, and we can't afford any drama."
Cassie felt a headache coming on and got a bit angry. "Who invited him to the party? What's it got to do with me? Let Marigold help him out. Maybe he can get in good with the Dixon family."
She thought to herself, 'This was Joseph's doing. Why should I have to fix it?'
The bathroom door suddenly opened.
Joseph had already taken off his suit jacket, wearing just a shirt with all the buttons undone, showing off his broad, well-toned chest. His flushed face was covered in water droplets, and his eyes seemed to be burning with fire.
"I'm not here to get in good with the Dixon family," Joseph said, enduring the pain that felt like bugs biting him, looking deeply at her. "I came because you said you were coming yesterday."
Cassie was stunned.
She remembered that Joseph had asked her the night before if she was free, and she had said she was going to Marigold's party.
So Joseph came because of Cassie!
While she was lost in thought, Joseph closed the door again, leaning against it. His painful, hoarse voice came through, making Laura and Cassie blush.
Laura didn't want to listen any longer. "Cassie, why don't you go in and help him?"
Cassie glared at her in embarrassment, thinking, 'What does Laura mean?'
"Yeah," Derek quickly added. "If Marigold comes over, she'll definitely find out. When a man loses control, he can do all sorts of irrational things. With so many guests here tonight, the Dixon family will definitely force Joseph to take responsibility."
Laura coughed. "You wouldn't want Marigold to become Sophia's stepmother, would you?"
She didn't want that, but she also couldn't bring herself to sleep with Joseph.
Besides, David was downstairs. She really couldn't do such a thing.
Her mind was in chaos.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, followed by Marigold's voice. "Derek, are you in there?"
Cassie's face changed.
Derek gritted his teeth, not caring anymore. He opened the door and pushed Cassie inside.
Laura was startled. "What are you doing!"
"If she doesn't want to, she can still come out. Let's solve the problem for now," Derek said helplessly, rubbing his nose.
Laura was speechless for a moment. However, after Cassie went in, Joseph's heavy breathing seemed to quiet down a bit.
As Derek opened the door, Laura quickly ran to the sofa, pretending to eat fruit and watch TV.
When the door opened, Marigold walked in immediately. Seeing only Laura, she said, "Derek, what were you and Laura doing in here with the door closed?"
Upon hearing that, Laura almost choked on her mango.
"Laura, be careful." Derek quickly poured her a glass of water and gently patted her back.
Marigold looked at the scene with a knowing smile. "Am I interrupting something?"
Laura was about to snap back, but Derek jumped in first. "Laura wasn't feeling well, and Violet asked me to stay with her. Marigold, why aren't you downstairs at your birthday party? What are you doing up here?"
"I'm looking for someone," Marigold said bluntly. "Have you seen Joseph?"
Laura replied coldly, "Hasn't Joseph been with you the whole time? You've been clinging to him. We haven't seen him at all."
Marigold pouted. "I looked away for just a second, and he was gone."
Derek smirked. "Seems like Joseph isn't that into you. With so many guys outside who like you, why chase someone so much older?"
"He's not that much older than me, just ten years." Marigold huffed. "Anyway, I must have him."
"Alright, I don't care. I haven't seen him." Derek waved her off.
Marigold, in a hurry to find someone, didn't have time to chat and turned away.
After the door closed again, Laura finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Laura thought to herself, 'Luckily, Marigold didn't suspect anything. If she came in and found Cassie and Joseph in the bathroom, it would be a disaster. But why are Cassie and Joseph so quiet?'
She tiptoed to the door to eavesdrop, only to be pulled back by Derek. "Laura, don't disturb them."
"Now that Marigold is gone, I need to get Cassie out," Laura said.
"Forget it. If she wants to come out, she will." Derek winked at her. "If she doesn't, we should cover for them."
Laura blushed at the thought of those two making love inside while she and Derek covered for them outside.
Derek felt a twinge of affection as he looked at her flushed, adorable face.
Laura was a few years older than him, but her skin was still as soft as a young girl's.
Derek pondered, 'What a pity Laura is my sister. Michael doesn't know good from bad.'
In the bathroom, since Cassie was pushed in, Joseph had her in his arms.
"Cassie, I feel terrible. Help me," Joseph whispered pleadingly in her ear. His voice was already pleasant, but now it was so low and magnetic that it made her ears tingle.
Cassie, who had been struggling, suddenly felt disoriented.
Until Joseph's kiss, with a hint of aggression, fell on her.
Before she could struggle, she heard Marigold's voice outside.
Her heart tightened in fear, and she could only try to soothe Joseph in front of her, gently caressing the back of his neck.
Joseph became much quieter, but he didn't stop kissing her.
Cassie was kissed until her mind went blank, not even knowing when Marigold left.
She didn't know how much time had passed when Joseph cupped her face, his eyes bloodshot. "Cassie, I don't like Marigold at all. If she hadn't forced me, I wouldn't have given her the time of day."
"Did she force you?" Cassie was confused.
"Yes." Joseph gritted his teeth, full of disgust. "If I don't give her face, she'll cause trouble for the Hernandez family."
