Chapter 933 From Now On, Let Me Love You
Joseph's face was filled with despair. She had said many times that she didn't love him, and he understood that she truly no longer loved him.
Joseph had made a woman completely give up on him.
"It doesn't matter if you don't love me. You used to love me, but from now on, let me love you. Let you torment me. It's fair," he said.
After saying this, Joseph grabbed her arm and pulled her into his embrace.
"What are you doing? Let go of me, Joseph. You're not letting me torment you; you're tormenting me again." Cassie struggled angrily, even trying to hit him.
Spencer taught her combat skills, but she quickly lost Joseph.
Joseph forcibly held her and took her back to the manor.
The butler approached and said, "Mr. Hernandez, the chapel is ready."
Cassie felt a bad premonition. It wasn't until she was taken into the chapel and saw the place decorated as if for a ceremony that she realized something was wrong. "What are you doing? I already had a wedding with David at noon."
"Forget it. Today is our wedding," Joseph said, dragging her to the priest. "The ceremony can start now."
"Alright." The priest smiled and asked Joseph, "Joseph, do you take Cassie to be your lawful wedded wife, to live together according to God's ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor her, and keep her in sickness and in health, leaving all others only to her as long as you both shall live?"
Joseph smiled and said, "I do."
The priest then looked at Cassie and asked, "Cassie, do you take Joseph to be your lawful wedded husband, to live together according to God's ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love him, comfort him, honor him, and keep him in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep only unto him, so long as you both shall live?"
Cassie sneered, "I don—"
"She does," Joseph interrupted, covering her mouth.
She angrily stomped on his foot, but Joseph seemed to feel no pain. He lifted her hand, and upon seeing a diamond ring on her finger, he narrowed his eyes, took it off, and threw it away, replacing it with a pink diamond from his pocket.
The priest smiled and said, "The groom may now kiss the bride."
Cassie's eyes widened, but before she could react, Joseph's domineering kiss silenced her. She kept biting him, but he didn't let go, and she even tasted his blood.
The kiss lasted a long time. Cassie, as a woman, felt shy, especially with the priest nearby, and her beautiful face turned red.
When Joseph finally let her go, he saw her charming face and gave a deep smile.
The priest smiled and said, "Congratulations to you both on becoming husband and wife."
"Thank you," Joseph responded in a deep voice, carrying Cassie towards the main building again.
When they reached the master bedroom on the second floor, Cassie saw that the bed had been meticulously arranged, with rose petals forming a heart shape in the center. She felt terrible and was overwhelmed with guilt.
David had also prepared such a wedding room in Madison, but tonight, Joseph had taken her away. It was bad enough that she couldn't go back. If she stayed with Joseph, there would be a deep rift between her and David.
David had been so good to her, and she didn't want to hurt him any further.
Moreover, she had originally hoped to live a peaceful and warm married life with David.
"Cassie, this is our wedding room. Do you like it?" Joseph placed her on the large bed and leaned in to kiss her.
"Joseph, don't come any closer." Cassie, on the verge of breaking down, pushed against his body, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Of course, I'm coming closer. I am your husband, and tonight, you are mine," he then stated.
Joseph's tall and noble figure pressed down on her, one knee on the bed, his masculine presence completely enveloping Cassie.
"You are not my husband. My husband is David," Cassie screamed in exasperation. "Even if you held a wedding and made vows, even if you prepared this wedding room, it doesn't erase the fact that David and I are already married. We have a marriage certificate; it's legally recognized."
"Shut up," Joseph shouted.
He suddenly pushed her down, his right hand covering her mouth forcefully, his deep eyes filled with a menacing light. He had tried hard not to think about it, but why did she always have to anger him and remind him?
His blood seemed to boil, and he struggled to control himself, fearing that he might hurt her if he lost control like before.
Cassie could not speak, only looking at Joseph with pleading, tear-filled eyes. If she stayed with Joseph tonight, she would hate him for the rest of her life because he would have tarnished her reputation, making it impossible for her to face David ever again.
"Don't cry," Joseph whispered, gently wiping away her tears.
His heart ached as well, but he wanted her to remember that today belonged to him and her, not her and David.
"Joseph, if you do this, I will hate you forever. I will never, ever forgive you," Cassie said painfully, word by word.
"Hating me is fine. At least you'll always remember me, forever and ever," he replied.
Joseph tore off his tie and bound her restless hands tightly. Seeing Cassie's helpless and tearful face, his heart felt like it was shattering.
But what could he do? He only wanted her to bear his child so she would leave David and return to him.
"Cassie, I'm sorry. I love you," he added.
Throughout the night, he whispered in her ear until her eyes became empty and despairing, filled only with endless hatred.
It wasn't until she fell asleep from exhaustion that Joseph took a small camera from the TV facing the bed. He edited a discreet video and sent it to David. He believed that no man could tolerate his wife sleeping with another man.
He thought, 'David, once you see this video, I don't believe you can act as if nothing has happened and accept Cassie.'
He admitted he was despicable, but if he weren't, he would lose her forever. He didn't want that, and he wouldn't allow it.
At four in the morning in Madison, David hadn't slept. He stood on the balcony like a statue, his eyes bloodshot, the ashtray beside him filled with cigarette butts.
Behind him was the decorated wedding room. Tonight was supposed to be his night with Cassie, but Joseph had taken her away.
Where was she now? What was she doing?
He was too agitated to calm down.
