Chapter 351
"I really heard from the waiter that Edward took Cassie here." Luna was mid-sentence when she saw the tall, handsome figure on the bed; her heart skipped a beat; she was on the verge of losing it. "Joseph, it's you!"
Joseph's eyes, bright red, snapped into focus. He quickly grabbed a blanket to cover Cassie's body. She was startled, too, and when she saw who had come through the door, she felt like it was the end of the world.
It's over!
She had never felt more embarrassed in her entire life.
The Chapmans and others were all there, staring in shock at the couple on the bed.
Joseph's shirt was off, and Cassie's strikingly beautiful face was flushed with a seductive allure; it was obvious to anyone what they had been in the midst of doing.
Mildred was trembling with rage, clutching her cane tightly.
"Cassie, you shameless hussy!" Luna completely lost her composure and charged at her, intending to strike her. "How dare you seduce my fiancé?"
But before Luna could land a hit, Joseph caught her wrist and flung her to the side.
Luna couldn’t steady herself and fell to the floor.
Vera rushed to help her up, quivering with anger. "Joseph, did you push Luna aside for this woman? Mildred, you owe us an explanation today; you can't treat people like this!"
Mildred's body swayed, nearly fainting from shock; she never expected her proud grandson to commit such a foolish and indecent act.
Liam rushed to steady her, glaring at the two on the bed. "Brother, you already have the company. I finally found a woman I like; why did you have to take her from me?"
Cassie was astonished. Since when had Liam liked her?
"Take her?" Suddenly, a mocking chuckle came from Joseph. He spoke up confidently, "She's always been my woman; there's nothing to take."
Everyone was stunned, and Mabel, clearly upset, demanded, "Have you two been involved for a while?"
Joseph's lips twitched as Cassie clutched his wrist in a panicked plea, her thin lips trembling, "Enough, stop talking."
He was frustrated with this foolish woman. "That's right," he admitted, his voice carrying a tone of finality.
When Luna heard him, it felt as if the sky had come crashing down. With tears streaming down her face, she cried out, "I understand now! When I came to your house, she was in your bedroom, wasn't she?"
"Luna," Joseph's voice was detached and ruthless as he responded, "I made it clear to you we had no future. I even gave you the chance to break things off yourself. This is all your own doing."
"Scoundrel! What kind of words are those? Luna is so kind; how could you hurt her like this?" Mildred couldn't contain her anger and lashed out with her cane, striking him.
Joseph didn't dodge, taking the blow.
His grandmother, witnessing his stubbornness, felt her blood pressure soar and suddenly became unsteady before fainting.
"Grandma!" Joseph was startled. He quickly released Cassie to catch his grandmother. "Call an ambulance, quick!"
The room was in utter chaos. Seizing the opportunity amidst the confusion, Luna lashed out at Cassie, slapping and scratching her face, "You fox! You wretch! I'll beat you to death!"
"Let me help, Luna!" Vera rushed over to join in.
