Chapter 1101 Cassie, Give Me a Piece of Candy

After Cassie and Joseph left, Mildred sighed happily. "Finally, some good news for the Hernandez family."

"Great grandma, what good news?" Sophia asked.

Mildred patted her head. "Your mom and dad have made up."

Sophia looked puzzled. "How do you know?"

Oliver rolled his eyes. "Mom said she'd come over for Rosalind's breakfast next time. She never used to say that."

Sophia felt a mix of happiness and confusion. "So, Mom's gonna live with us now?"

"She will, but not just yet," Mildred sighed, hoping David would end his marriage soon.

The sports car pulled into the parking lot.

Cassie unbuckled her seatbelt, and Joseph handed her a business card with "Audrey Edwards" on it.

"Audrey was a junior of mine," Joseph explained. "She specializes in divorce cases."

"How good is she?" Cassie asked.

"She's never lost a case," Joseph smiled. "Many want her, but she’s picky. You can contact her anytime."

"Okay," Cassie said, taking the card and getting ready to leave.

Joseph held her back. "Cassie, you're just gonna leave? No kiss?"

Cassie laughed. "You look like Sophia asking for candy."

Joseph pouted. "Then give me a piece of candy."

Cassie laughed and kissed him, feeling shy.

But Joseph wasn't satisfied, holding her and kissing her deeply before letting go.

At the office, Cassie called the number on the card. "Hello, Ms. Edwards. This is Cassie, referred by Joseph."

"Hello, Ms. Brooks," Audrey laughed. "Joseph told me about you. Your case is quite famous."

"Where's your office? Can we meet in person?" Cassie asked.

"Of course."

They scheduled a meeting for 2 PM at a café.

Cassie saw Audrey, sharp in a black business suit.

Audrey smiled. "Joseph called, asking me to make sure you and David get divorced ASAP."

Cassie smiled. "Didn't know Joseph knew such a great divorce lawyer."

"If I didn't handle divorces, I'd have to face Joseph in court, and I don't want to lose to him," Audrey shrugged. "What's David's situation?"

"He won't divorce easily. He probably hates me now," Cassie said. "We need to talk. If we can't agree, we'll go legal."

"Alright, I'll go with you," Audrey nodded.

Cassie and Audrey went to the Wit Group, with Spencer and Peter for protection.

David met with Cassie quickly.

It was their first meeting since that night.

David's handsome face was filled with malice. He looked at Cassie with a cold smile. "Cassie, you’ve got some nerve, inciting Lucas against me."

Cassie frowned. "Are you talking about hiding the fact that you still have both kidneys?"

"Stop pretending. The Nelson family has been warning hospitals to stop selling the Wit Group's drugs," David sneered. "Think you can beat me like this?"

Cassie was taken aback. She didn't know about this. It seemed Joseph had talked to Lucas behind her back.

Seeing her silence, David took it as an admission. He gritted his teeth and spat, "Bitch, I heard you've been staying at Joseph's place every day."

Cassie found his words harsh, and Audrey quickly shot back, "You had an affair with Lola, and everyone knows it. What right do you have to accuse Cassie?"

"Who do you think you are, talking to me like that?" David glared at her.

"I'm Ms. Brooks' attorney," Audrey said, handing over her business card. "We're here to discuss the divorce."

"Divorce?" David sneered. "Dream on. I won't divorce."

Audrey stayed calm. "If you don't agree, we'll go to court. Both parties have been unfaithful, and you've cheated multiple times and even shown signs of domestic violence. The judge will grant the divorce. There's no financial dispute since you didn't acquire any joint property. Ms. Brooks just wants to end this miserable marriage."

"Seems you came prepared," David's eyes flashed with anger. "Cassie, you played with my feelings and now want to dump me? Dream on."

"Are you crazy?" Cassie snapped. "I don't even know how I offended you. I rejected you, but you tricked me into thinking you lost a kidney. Now you blame me for playing with your feelings. Do you have any shame?"

"So what if I don't?" David smirked. "How am I worse than Joseph? He betrayed you, yet you still want to be with him. Cassie, you're just an ungrateful bitch."

"Watch your mouth," Spencer warned coldly.

Peter added, "You're a disgrace to men."

David ignored them, smiling sinisterly. "You want me to sign the papers? Not happening! If you want to go to court, then let's go."

He stood up, looked at Audrey, and smiled again. "You're her lawyer, right? Are you sure you want to go against me for her? Don't regret it."

David tore up Audrey's business card, his smile sending chills down their spines. "We'll see."

Cassie was getting a headache from his arrogance. "David, sign the papers, and we can go our separate ways. You can be with any woman you want. Why cling to me? Just because I didn't fall in love with you? Be reasonable. You've been scheming against me all along. How could I possibly fall in love with you?"

"Cassie, my reputation is in shambles because of you. Can you divorce me? Do you think I'm stupid? But fine, I don't have to pretend anymore."
