Chapter 1324 With You, I Don't Want to Be Too Casual

At night, in this fancy steakhouse, Joseph's slicing up his steak like it's no big deal.

The fancy crystal chandelier's throwing some soft light, making his handsome face look even more high-class.

He's rocking a white shirt and a vest that hugs his tall, solid frame just right.

Marigold's sitting across from him.

She's seen a lot of dudes, both local and foreign, but no one pulls off a white shirt and vest combo like Joseph. She's thinking, 'I gotta have this guy.'

"Joseph." Her fingers start creeping towards his hand, her voice dripping with seduction, "Wanna come over to my place for a cup of coffee tonight?"

"Do you want coffee, or do you want me to rock your world?" Joseph forked a piece of steak into his mouth, a wicked grin on his lips.

He's so blunt. But instead of getting pissed, Marigold laughed. She's always been bold, "I do want you to rock my world, but I heard you can't get it up."

"It's fixed." Joseph cut her off confidently after swallowing his steak.

"Really?" Marigold's eyes lit up, and her foot started sliding up his leg, "Let me see for myself."

Joseph's hand holding the knife and fork stiffened, a flicker of disgust in his eyes.

He knew Marigold's testing him. But he felt nothing for her. He tightened his grip on the knife and fork, closed his eyes, and a vision of Cassie bathing him in the bathroom popped into his head, making him feel hot all of a sudden.

"Ah." Marigold laughed in surprise, "You really are fixed."

"Can you move your foot?" Joseph looked at her tensely.

Marigold smiled triumphantly. She got up and sit next to him, her hand crawling up his chest, "You look pretty uncomfortable. Wanna try it now? No one's gonna come in anyway." Joseph felt repulsed; this chick made him sick.

"No." Joseph grabed her hand and spoke in a deep voice, "I don't want to be too casual with you."

Marigold looked at his long eyelashes, her heart racing. But since he said that, she couldn't seem too casual either, or it'd look disrespectful. "Then how can it not be casual?"

"Take me to meet your parents." Joseph said, "Otherwise, I'll think you're just playing with me."

"How could I? I really love you." Marigold hooked her arms around his neck with a smile, "My dad's birthday is in two days. You can come to his party. By the way, don't you have two kids? Since I'll be their mom sooner or later, you can bring them along so I can get to know them."

"Bringing my two kids to your dad's birthday party doesn't seem right." Joseph said expressionlessly, "Besides, you don't need to get to know them. I don't plan on keeping them. When we get married, we'll have our own."

"No way, I can't let people talk about me. Don't worry, I'll treat your kids well." Marigold kissed him ambiguously on the face.

Joseph stared at her, "What do you really want? Just say it."

"Joseph, I really wanna introduce you to my folks on my dad's birthday. But you're pretty sharp, and my dad's all about David. I'm worried you might pull something at the party. Don't sweat it, though. As long as you play nice, my family won't mess with you or your kids," Marigold said with a smile.

Joseph looked down and smirked, "What if I say no?"

"Then I can't let you come to my dad's birthday bash, sorry." Marigold said, "But Joseph, you're a smart guy. You know my dad's gonna be president sooner or later. Marrying me is a win for you. Honestly, I don't think much of David. You're way better in my eyes."

Joseph chuckled and pinched her chin, "What else can I say when you put it like that?"

At ten o'clock that night, Nathaniel rushed in as soon as Joseph got back to the Hernandez House. "Mr. Hernandez, I dug into that entertainment club. It's backed by a real estate big shot from Silverwood. After some snooping, I found out that this big shot was just a regular project manager on a construction site. Then, after a quick chat with David, he suddenly landed two major projects three years ago."

"So, David's been scheming this for three years." Joseph lightly tapped the table, "No wonder the cops and Dragon's crew couldn't find any leads after all this time."

"Yeah, who'd have thought David would plant people in a busy entertainment club? I bet there's a secret passage inside. Oh, and that club building was also developed by that real estate guy. Easy to mess with it."

Nathaniel was getting anxious, "Should we move in to rescue them? We've only got two days left."

"We'll strike at dawn the day after tomorrow. Remember, take down everyone in the club without raising any alarms. I don't want David catching wind of it."

Joseph's tall frame leaned back into the leather chair, his gaze intense, "My goal isn't just to take down David, but the whole Dixon family. When they go after Mr. Jude, it'll be game over for the Dixons."

Nathaniel got it. Even if David was out, it would only be like Ralph losing an arm. The Jude family needed solid proof to bring down the Dixons. At Ralph's birthday party the day after tomorrow, the president could use the chance to wipe out those tied to the Dixon family once they made a move.

Two days later.

This was the swankiest entertainment club in Silverwood. At three in the morning, a bunch of young folks were still partying hard.

The on-duty waiter peeked inside through the glass door before heading to the security guard at the entrance, "It's so late, and they're still going at it."

The burly security guard tossed him a cigarette and said meaningfully, "Stay sharp."

"Got it." The waiter chuckled.

"Hey, can you get us some more drinks?" A pretty girl, a bit tipsy, walked over.

The waiter's eyes lit up, and he walked over, slyly touching her waist, "Sure, as much as you want."

"Thanks." The pretty girl gave him a goofy smile for a moment, then suddenly pulled something out of her bag and zapped him.
