Chapter 1739 I Forbid You to See Other Women.

"You don't hate this; you just don't like me touching you, right?" Lucas's hand, hovering near her waist, started to feel cold. His voice, though soft, felt like a snake slithering over her ear. "Didn't you learn your lesson this afternoon?"

Bernice's body went rigid. She bit her lip, struggling internally for what felt like forever. Finally, she relaxed, her tone softening a lot. "No, it's not that. I was sweating from filming today and then had some barbecue. I'm all sticky and uncomfortable. Let me take a shower, okay? I'm not going to run away. Why are you in such a hurry?"

It was rare for her to explain herself. Usually, she was openly cold and resistant.

Lucas noticed her change and, curious, straightened up, his deep eyes scrutinizing her. "Really?"

"Really." Bernice nodded, but kept her head down.

"Go ahead."

Lucas stared at her for a few seconds before speaking. "Don't close the door while you're showering. I'll come in later."

"Okay."

Bernice got off the bar counter, grabbed her bag, and quickly went upstairs.

In the dressing room, she opened a small bottle, took out a pill, and swallowed it dry.

Less than ten minutes after entering the bathroom, just as she finished washing her long hair, the door suddenly opened.

Lucas leaned casually against the door frame, his indifferent gaze falling on her. Under the showerhead, Bernice's long hair clung to her delicate face, and the hot water streamed over her glistening lips.

The visual impact of the scene pierced his pupils.

Lucas slowly removed his glasses and walked straight in.

At ten o'clock at night, Lucas carried Bernice out of the bathroom and placed her on the bed. When his eyes met her charming ones, he lost control again.

Bernice's body felt as if it had been run over by several trucks, completely unlike herself.

This intense feeling was unfamiliar to her.

Once, Bernice's body didn't belong to her. When she was Nina, she was only eighteen. Her youth was filled with both innocence and pain, but also fleeting happiness, so brief that she didn't want to remember it.

Afterward, she stared blankly at the ceiling.

Lucas, still somewhat gentle, wiped her down with a towel, changed the sheets, and then held her in his arms again.

He leaned against the headboard, one hand holding a cigarette, the other arm around her.

"Why were you so passionate tonight?" Lucas took a drag, the bluish-white smoke slowly exhaling from his nose. "You almost made me die on top of you."

Bernice's delicate body trembled. She lowered her head, saying nothing, just shifting her head on his chest, face down.

"Why are you so quiet now?" At this moment, Lucas was in a good mood.

He had been tense for the past few days, his mood sour.

Tonight, he had vented it all out.

Especially since Bernice, who used to be like a dead fish, seemed to have finally been awakened by him. As a man, Lucas felt a sense of accomplishment.

"I don't know why I was like that," Bernice suddenly said.

Lucas laughed, gently stroking her small face, his handsome lips speaking harsh words. "What are you pretending for? It's not like you haven't slept with Gary before."

Bernice remained silent.

Fine, if he didn't mention it, she would have almost forgotten.

But she wasn't Bernice, how would she know?

"He also thought I was like a dead fish, so he quickly lost interest in me."She mumbled, trying to come up with an excuse.

Lucas smiled, but his eyes were cold.

He wasn't the type to demand a woman be a virgin, but the thought of Gary touching the same places he had made him feel a bit disgusted.

But he had known about her past for a long time.

"That's normal. Not all men are like me, not minding that you're like a dead fish." Lucas's voice was gentle. "But now, I've taught you well."

"I haven't," Bernice replied. She was an actress, after all, and she convincingly portrayed a mix of displeasure, shyness, and embarrassment.

"Still won't admit it?" Lucas bent down to kiss her small face. "I don't know who was clinging to me just now, making me change the sheets."

"Lucas," Bernice said angrily, lifting her head.

Lucas raised an eyebrow, a hint of interest in his eyes. "What's up?"

"I hate you," Bernice whispered.

"Do you hate me?" Lucas stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, then flipped over, pressing her down again.

Bernice's beautiful eyes stared at him for a few seconds, then she turned her face away. "Lucas, don't do this. I'm afraid if I stay with you too long, I'll fall in love with you."

After saying that, she felt nauseated by her own words.

But acting? Who couldn't do that?

She had even won awards.

Lucas was stunned for a couple of seconds, then turned her face to look at her seriously. "Are you Bernice? Did you get swapped?"

"I'm serious. I've accepted it and come to terms with it," Bernice said softly. "I can't escape anyway, and I've already slept with you. When I think about it, I haven't lost anything. You're good-looking, powerful, and influential. So many women in the entertainment industry want to sleep with you. Look at how Emery treated me with such respect after you visited my set today. Cecilia from the same company was envious of me. No one in the crew dares to bully me."

Lucas's face showed little emotion. "Shouldn't you have known all this already? You used to not care about me at all. Why the sudden enlightenment?"

"Could I have agreed to you before? You change women like you change clothes. Besides, you were about to marry Sarah back then. Even if I were stupid, I wouldn't be stupid enough to be the other woman. That would be self-destructive, wouldn't it?" Bernice suddenly hugged his neck. "Now, I've accepted it, but I want you to agree to some conditions."

"Some conditions?" Lucas caught the key point and smiled meaningfully. "Let's hear them."

"I have a cleanliness obsession. When you're with me, you're not allowed to see other women," Bernice said coldly. "Also, since I'm your girlfriend now, you should give me the best film and TV resources."

"Girlfriend?" Lucas said playfully. "You must be mistaken. When did I agree that you're my girlfriend?"

Bernice's pretty face turned awkward, and she pushed him away forcefully, turning to leave.

Lucas grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his arms, teasing, "After all this, where do you think you're going?"

"Let go of me," Bernice said with a cold smile. "So, in your eyes, I'm just a toy to satisfy your sexual needs."

"Not exactly," Lucas said calmly. "I gave you a chance before, but you didn't cherish it. But don't be discouraged. If you keep sleeping with me for a while, I might make you my girlfriend."
