Chapter 808
It was in the Morning at Willow Creek Estates.
In the kitchen, Cassie was preparing breakfast for Sophia and Laura when suddenly Laura's cursing voice came from outside.
Shortly after, Laura walked into the kitchen holding her phone. "Cassie, I want to show you something. Don't get mad."
Cassie took the phone and saw that today's headline was "Megan injured, Mr. Hernandez rushed to the hospital for the first time, rumors of breakup debunked on their own."
Cassie opened the video, where the reporter detailed the news:
"A few days ago, Mr. Hernandez and Megan's wedding was suddenly called off, and there was no news afterward. Rumors about their breakup spread like wildfire. However, last night, i happened to discover Megan being admitted to the hospital while squatting there. Shortly after, Mr. Hernandez hurriedly arrived, looking very concerned about Megan's condition. I stayed until 7 in the morning, only to see Mr. Hernandez tiredly coming out of the hospital..."
Cassie closed the news and handed the phone back to Laura, her pretty face calm and indifferent, as if it had nothing to do with her.
"Are you okay?" Laura inquired.
Laura looked at Cassie with concern.
Honestly, Laura didn't expect Joseph to be so unfaithful. Last night, Joseph even gave her a house and asked her to move out, thinking he would passionately pursue Cassie, but he turned around and went to Megan's place. Even as a bystander, she was furious.
"What could be wrong with me? Just underestimated Joseph's shamelessness." Cassie snorted.
Cassie smirked inwardly. Last night, Joseph even sent her a selfie at home, and she actually believed it.
She thought, 'TrueHeartImpression, go to hell.'
But Joseph also slapped Cassie in the face, allowing her to be calmer and more alert.
"Let's have breakfast. After that, I need to take Sophia to school," Cassie said.
After breakfast, Cassie drove Sophia to school.
When they arrived, they coincidentally met Jeffrey, driving Oliver to the entrance.
"Jeffrey, sorry for trouble you again," Cassie said.
Cassie was grateful to Jeffrey. To avoid suspicion, Aiden had Jeffrey temporarily act as Oliver's father. Luckily, Jeffrey and Aiden looked alike, so no one suspected Cassie.
"Don't mention it. Thanks to your dad, I could return to the Chapman family as a manager." Jeffrey smiled.
Cassie squatted down and kissed Oliver's forehead, saying, "Oliver, did you miss mommy?"
"I'm not Sophia," Oliver answered.
Oliver looked proud, but his body involuntarily leaned into Cassie's arms, absorbing the warmth from her.
"Mommy will have dinner with you at Grandpa's tonight," Cassie said softly.
"Mommy, I want to go too," Sophia advised.
"No. You are part of the Hernandez family now. Staying with me all the time will raise suspicions," Cassie warned.
Shortly after sending Sophia and Oliver inside, "TrueHeartImpression" texted Cassie on Messenger: [Babe, did you drop Sophia off at school?]
Cassie glanced down and blocked him again.
Joseph, on his way to the office, kept checking Facebook after sending a text.
But even after reaching the office, Joseph didn't receive a reply from Cassie.
Annoyed, he sent another message: [What are you busy with? Why aren't you replying to me?]
This time, he got an instant reply, but it was from the system: [This person is unavailable on Messenger.]
What does this mean? Didn't they already become friends last night? Could it be that Joseph was deleted again?
A surge of unidentifiable anger rushed out from his chest, carrying a mix of frustration, annoyance, and grievance.
Just then, Nathaniel came in and said, "Mr. Hernandez, here's an urgent document for you to sign."
