Chapter 1079 Kept Calling Joseph
"Have I not helped you enough?" Marcus sneered. "Do you think I don't know? Last time, you sent those assassins after Sophia and Oliver."
David clenched his fists in silent anger.
"David, you even go after children. You are ruthless," Marcus said meaningfully, "You want me to help you. By kidnapping Aiden or Sophia and Oliver to threaten Cassie? Do you think they're foolish? Do you think Madison was under my leadership or that I can do whatever I want?"
David's heart skipped a beat. "That's not what I meant."
Marcus sighed. "Last time, you incited Felix to harm Joseph, and it almost killed Marigold. Do you know how much money I had to spend to settle that?"
"Mr. Chamberlain, I'm sorry. I didn't know it would turn out like that, and I thought you really wanted Joseph dead," David explained.
"Let me tell you, they're not fools. The police already suspected something when Sophia and Oliver had their incident. If something similar happens again, the police will definitely trace it back to us. You better think it over and don't cause me any trouble." With that, Marcus ended the call.
David was so angry he almost crushed his phone.
He could tell that Marcus didn't want to help him despite all he had done for the Chamberlain family.
Now that the Chamberlain family had risen to power, they didn't value him as much anymore.
Fortunately, he had other plans, but another matter needed to proceed simultaneously.
He quickly dialed Megan's number.
Half an hour later, they met at David's private villa.
"Mr. Foster, welcome back," Megan said with a smile, "What's wrong? You seem upset."
"Tell me, how is Michael doing? Has the Jude family been ignoring him?" David suddenly asked.
Megan's face stiffened. She knew that one of the main reasons David had chosen to help her was because of the Jude family behind Michael. "The Jude family is probably still angry. Don't worry. Michael is James's son, after all; they won't abandon him."
"How many years will that take?" David took a bottle of wine from the glass and opened it. The dark red wine reflected in his eyes, making him look eerie. "Megan, sometimes you need to be smart. If Michael continues like this, how many years can you patiently stay with him?"
Megan was at a loss for words.
Right now, the only person she could firmly rely on was David.
"I want you to temporarily leave Michael and let him return to the Jude family." David poured a glass of wine and handed it to her. "As long as he leaves you, the Jude family will give him another chance. Carl is about to become president. With Carl as his backing, Michael's future is bright. Michael is also the eldest of the third generation of the Jude family. Sooner or later, he will take over the family. The higher a man climbs, the more he will miss his first love."
Megan's eyes lit up.
David smirked. "Even if you have his child now, the Jude family may not accept you. But one day, when he has power, and with my support, you will be the first lady of the Jude family."
Megan was so excited by his words that she trembled.
David looked at her calmly. "Megan, you need to understand I can't marry you. You've been with Michael and Joseph. The high society of Madison might play with you but won't marry you. Your only option now is to let Michael return to the Jude family."
"I understand." Megan's face turned pale at his words. She understood that her reputation wasn't good, but David was offering her a chance.
After leaving, David quickly went to the Chapman Mansion.
However, as soon as he reached the entrance, the guards stopped him. When Aiden heard the news, he immediately rushed out with security.
"David, you're just in time. I was about to look for you. How dare you hit Cassie?" Aiden was furious and swung a broom at him.
"Aiden, go ahead and hit me. I hurt Cassie; it's all my fault." David didn't dodge and bowed with a pained expression.
Aiden was stunned. When he saw a few reporters hiding nearby, he quickly understood.
"David, you're really cunning. If I hit you, the news tomorrow will say I bullied you without reason, and I'll be scolded, right?" Aiden sneered.
"Aiden," David suddenly whispered, "If you drive me crazy, don't blame me. Joseph is no longer what he used to be; he can't protect you, especially the Chapman family, including Paul and Margaret. You should let Cassie think it over."
Aiden's face changed. "Are you threatening me?"
"Aiden, if she could talk with me nicely, maybe we can get divorced sooner." With that, David left.
Aiden resisted the urge to hit him and returned to the villa to tell Cassie about it. "Cassie, David is a lunatic. How about divorcing him first?"
"Dad, let me think about it." Cassie sighed, pretending to be annoyed.
Spencer glanced at her. Once they were upstairs, he said, "Are you just going to let it go?"
"No, I just lied to Dad. He's always indecisive when it comes to family. I don't want to be threatened by David. Besides, people who threaten me won't spare those around me just because I compromise," Cassie said, "And the more David threatens me, the more it shows he cares. This time, he's really pissed me off. Even if it means mutual destruction, I won't let him off easily."
Spencer looked at her with admiration. "You are more and more impressive. If you were a man, I might even fall for you."
Cassie twitched her lips slightly. "Stop saying that. By the way, did anything happen to you that day? I’m afraid Peter will blame me."
Few people knew that Peter and Spencer were a couple.
Back then, Cassie saved Spencer. Peter was grateful and didn't want to be separated from Spencer, so he stayed to work for her.
Fortunately, Cassie didn't mind that Peter and Spencer were a couple.
Spencer's handsome face showed a hint of embarrassment. "You were quite excited that day. If I hadn't desperately protected myself, you would have stripped me naked."
Cassie pondered, 'Was I that crazy?'
"So you sent me to Joseph," Cassie remarked.
"It was because you kept calling Joseph while trying to strip me," Spencer said gloomily.
