Chapter 1606 True Colors

The car fell silent once more. Caroline, exhausted, said, "Forget it. After this is over, let's send Michael abroad. I really don't want to deal with his crap anymore."

James, with a stern face, was still angry about Michael deceiving him out of fifty million dollars.

Michael was such a disappointment.

Michael had helped Megan deceive James. James shouldn't have shown even a bit of mercy to Michael back then.

And Megan, brazenly deceiving Michael, was nothing but a repeated humiliation to James.

Did she really think the Jude family wouldn't teach her a lesson?

At this moment, Megan was rummaging through the villa.

In the master bedroom's walk-in closet, a large suitcase was on the wooden floor, and Megan was frantically stuffing it with things—jewelry, accessories, watches.

These were all bought with Michael's money before and after their marriage.

There were also some documents.

Unfortunately, she was in a wheelchair, and her legs were not very convenient. She could only lose her temper and shout at Landon, "Why aren't you helping? Pack the luggage. We need to leave immediately, or it'll be trouble when Michael gets out of the police station."

A trace of impatience flashed across Landon's face. "You said you were just coming back to get the documents, but now you're packing so many things. It's just some jewelry. I can buy you more when we go abroad."

Megan was almost infuriated to death. Just some jewelry?

These were worth millions of dollars.

She was really envious of people like Landon who were born wealthy.

"I know you have money, but I haven't married you yet. I don't want to use your money for now. You know I still need treatment, and many things require money."

Megan said with a tearful face, "I'm really ruined for you. The reporters even caught those scenes today. I don't want to live anymore."

"Alright, you've been wronged today. Don't worry, the Jude family values their dignity. Those photos will definitely be suppressed."

Landon quickly helped her zip up the suitcase. "Let's go."

"Drive your car straight to the airport," Megan said, not wanting to stay in Whisperlyn City for another moment. "Let's leave immediately."

"Megan, you don't have to be so scared. Even if Michael knows, so what? Am I afraid of him?" Landon said disdainfully. "He's just an outcast from the Jude family. How can he compare to me? Besides, my brother does big business in Madison and knows a lot of people. I'll protect you, and Michael wouldn't dare do anything to you and me."

Megan's mind stirred. She knew a bit about Landon's background.

Hearing Landon's confident tone, she felt less panicked. "I don't want you to cause too much trouble for me. Your family might resent me. Let's not talk about it. Let's go to the airport first."

The two hurried downstairs.

As they exited the elevator, Aubrey immediately stepped forward to block them. "I just got a call from Michael. He said you can't take anything out of the villa."

"Ridiculous. We're divorced. The whole villa is mine. What right does Michael have to stop me?" Megan said, giving Vivienne a look.

Vivienne trembled, looking down at the floor as if she hadn't seen anything.

Megan was furious. "Landon, ignore him. Let's go."

As Landon pushed her wheelchair, Aubrey immediately blocked their way.

"Get out of the way." Landon and Aubrey started shoving each other.

The more Megan watched, the more anxious she became. Impatiently, she said, "Aubrey, you're just a temporary butler. If you move aside now, I'll give you a million dollars, enough for several years' salary."

"You're really arrogant, using my money to boss my people around." Michael sped over, arriving just in time to hear Megan's words. His barely contained anger surged again.

When Michael's gaze fell on Landon, he rushed over and slapped Megan. "You bitch, you even brought your lover home."

"You dare hit me?" Megan didn't know how many slaps she'd received from Michael tonight. Her cheek hurt, and she screamed, "Michael, what right do you have to scold me? We're already divorced."

"Exactly." Landon immediately stepped in front of Megan, giving her a sense of support. "You're divorced, so you're not a couple anymore. I'm not Megan's lover; we're truly in love. Michael, I've never seen a man like you who still tries to control his ex-wife after a divorce. You're too petty."

"Enough." Michael interrupted angrily, "Our divorce decree just came out this morning, and you two were already having sex by noon. Don't take me for a fool. I've investigated. You two have been meeting frequently in hotels for the past two months, using who knows how many boxes of condoms. And today, I caught you in the act. You two must be very familiar with those disgusting activities."

The more Michael spoke, the angrier he became. "Megan, you wanted to marry me. I can't control your betrayal, but you can't pretend to love me while cheating. Even when we divorced, you said you'd never forget me. Calculate how much money you've taken from me since we got married. You've exploited my guilt to the fullest."

"You'll never forget Michael?" Landon suddenly frowned at Megan. "Megan, didn't you say you only love me?"

Megan, of course, wanted to cling to this rich man. She quickly explained, "Landon, I never said that. He's lying to get his money back. Don't you understand my feelings for you?"

"I knew it. You love me. How could you love him?" Landon was reassured and held her hand tightly.

Michael was shocked, clearly not expecting Megan to be so shameless to please Landon.

"Fine, Megan. I've finally seen your true colors." He nodded, his whole body burning with anger. "You said you loved me and couldn't forget me. But you were always deceiving me, right? You came back for my money and status. Now that I have nothing, you don't care about me anymore, right?"

"Michael, don't slander me. You wanted the divorce. You never loved me. After we got married, you didn't even want to have sex with me. You just despised my crippled legs. You didn't come home for the past two months. I have normal sexual needs too."

Megan cried, "Don't think I don't know you always think about Laura. You wanted to divorce me long ago. Look, I proposed the divorce, and you immediately agreed. You don't love me. Do you expect me to love you forever? You're too selfish."
