Chapter 248
"After venting his anger, Joseph settled into the backseat of his sedan and suddenly realized he was famished—his stomach was punishing him once again. He lit a cigarette with restless fingers. If only he had eaten the breakfast she had made before he lost his temper.
""Mr. Hernandez, let me grab you something to eat,"" Walter said, concern etched across his face as he watched the man before him.
""I'm not in the mood to eat. Bring Olivia to me,"" Joseph commanded icily. ""I expected Cassie to handle that woman herself but turns out she's utterly useless. I'll take care of Olivia now.""
Walter nodded, realizing that Olivia's fate was likely sealed.
At Peace Group.
Olivia was unceremoniously escorted out by security guards.
Indignant, she yelled at the entrance, ""Even if my dad got arrested, he's still a shareholder. I'm his daughter, and I have the right to inherit his shares and dividends!""
""Get lost!"" the security guard spat disdainfully. ""Everyone knows your parents killed Mrs. Brooks to get a hold of Peace Group’s shares. They even had the guts to kill their flesh and blood. This is utterly inhumane. Cassie has already got a team of lawyers to reclaim Robert's shares. Do you think you can inherit them? In your dreams!""
""Just wait! Once I take over Peace Group again, I'll make your life a living hell,"" she swore.
Olivia was trembling with rage. Now even the security personnel were bold enough to mock her.
It seemed the world had turned against her. Just yesterday, she had sent those compromising photos of Cassie to the press, yet instead of ruining her reputation, it boosted her public image with David, making them a popular ""couple.""
Seething in anger, Olivia made her way to the curb when suddenly an unmarked car pulled up, and two men ruthlessly pushed her into the vehicle.
""What do you want?"" Before she could react, a sack was pulled over her head, and she was knocked out.
She came back to consciousness with a splash of cold water, letting out a shrill scream, and the sack was yanked off her head.
""Enjoying the chill?"" Walter loomed over her, smirking.
Olivia looked up, recognizing him as Joseph's assistant after a brief moment of confusion.
""So you remember? Good,"" Walter said with a faint smile, stepping aside to reveal a man sitting on a nearby couch.
Dressed in a sleek black suit, the man was smoking a cigarette, its smoke curling up. His dark eyebrows and piercing gaze were sharp as blades, radiating an intimidating presence.
A wave of genuine fear washed over Olivia as she recognized him.
""Mr. Hernandez, you work in law, don't you? Are you trying to get disbarred now? I'm warning you, let me go, or you'll regret it,"" she threatened.
Walter just laughed, as if he'd heard the funniest joke.
""What's so funny? Didn’t you hear me?"" Olivia retorted sharply. ""Let me tell you, I'm Richard's girl. Mr. Hernandez, you know who that is, right? He adores me. If you don't believe it, just look at the photos on my phone.""
Joseph tapped the ash off his final cigarette, dropped it into the ashtray, and rose to his feet. With his imposing height, he slowly closed in on her.
Olivia thought he was cowering and chuckled. ""Come on, Joseph, you're just a lawyer. A worthless man like you can't mess with the likes of Mr. Hernandez...""
Before she could finish, Walter's hand struck her face, knocking out one of her teeth.
Olivia screamed in agony, ""Mr. Hernandez will never let you...""
Smack!
Walter silenced her with another slap.
After several stinging slaps, Olivia's teeth scattered. Terror-stricken, she dared not speak another word."
