Chapter 1063 David Have Been Designing Her
"Mom, are you really going to disown me for the rest of your life?" Michael asked with a bitter smile as he caught up.
Caroline's face only grew colder. "When you chose Megan and hurt my grandson, did you ever think about my feelings, Michael? I gave birth to you, raised you, and never expected you to repay me, but I didn't raise you to hurt me."
"Mom, I didn't," Michael said, feeling extremely wronged.
Laura hadn't intended to intervene, but seeing his aggrieved expression, she said coldly, "Since you have chosen Megan, don't keep pestering us. Go find Megan to comfort your wounded heart and fill the void of not having parents."
Michael was infuriated by the sarcasm. "Laura, this is a matter of the Jude family and has nothing to do with you. If you weren't carrying my child, you wouldn't have your current status."
"Shut up," Caroline scolded, "Even if it were not for Laura, we would have cut ties with you because you are with Megan. Laura may not be my biological daughter, but she's far better than you. I no longer acknowledge you as my son. Don't call me mom anymore!"
With that, she grabbed Laura's hand. "Laura, let's go."
Watching Caroline's resolute and indifferent back, Michael felt his heart ache terribly.
Even though he knew Caroline despised him, he followed from a distance.
He saw Caroline take Laura to a baby store. Caroline was holding a tiny baby outfit, smiling.
Michael felt a mix of emotions. Caroline was picking out clothes for his child, and they were pink.
He guessed, 'Could it be a girl? Am I going to have a daughter?'
"Michael, please leave immediately and stop disturbing Mrs. Jude and Ms. Miller while they shop," Timothy Mitchell said coldly.
Michael felt humiliated, shouting, "Timothy, aren't you afraid that if I return to the Jude family, I'll take revenge on you?"
"You will never return to the Jude family," Timothy said flatly, "Mr. Jude said he would never let you come back, and he always means what he says."
Michael was stunned. Eric always meant what he said. He hadn't expected Eric to be so ruthless.
His eyes stung as he turned away, leaving in embarrassment and sadness.
He felt very uncomfortable. As Megan was also at this mall, he decided to call her for some comfort, but Megan didn't answer.
In the end, he had to go to the hospital to find Lucas.
Lucas was busy reviewing medical records. Feeling extremely wronged, Michael complained, "Lucas, are you ignoring me too? Are you siding with Joseph? It turns out I'm the extra one among the three of us."
Lucas frowned. "Are you done?"
"I'm telling the truth," Michael said, looking aggrieved, "I've been standing here for ten minutes, talking to you, and you haven't even looked at me."
"Because I don't want to deal with you," Lucas said lazily, putting down the medical records.
Michael's heart shattered. "Lucas, you're being too much. You're the second person today to say you don't want to deal with me."
"Michael, I'm very disappointed in you. I didn't attend this morning's trial, but I watched it online," Lucas said sternly, "You should know that Megan lied, right? Joseph never had a relationship with Megan, and you know that better than anyone."
Michael lowered his head, feeling at a loss. "I was very angry, too. After it ended, I asked Megan, and she said it was Mark's decision. Mark couldn't afford to lose this case."
"Fine, you believe whatever Megan says. Since you like Megan so much and won't break up with her, why do you find Caroline? Do you really expect she to accept Megan?"
Lucas stood up and took an ultrasound image from the file, handing it to him.
"What's this?" Michael asked irritably.
"Laura's ultrasound. I secretly had someone print it out for you so you wouldn't be clueless about what your own child looks like. I'm busy and need to get back to my shift." With that, Lucas put on his white coat and left.
Michael looked down at the ultrasound in his hand, confused.
He couldn't understand the ultrasound, but he felt a twinge of complex emotions.
At that moment, he truly realized he was going to be a father.
Later, he kept looking at the ultrasound, staring at it for over half an hour.
At David's villa in the evening.
David had called to inform Cassie that he wouldn't be home for dinner due to a social engagement.
After dinner, just as Cassie finished eating, the entire villa suddenly lost power.
She knew it was Spencer who had cut the nearby power lines.
Cassie immediately went upstairs to David's study, where he often worked.
After searching for a long time, she only found some unimportant documents from the Wit Group.
Then, she opened his laptop. She had learned a bit of hacking and managed to break the password. In a hidden folder, she found a video that left her stunned.
The video was of her and David kissing in a private room at the bar in Silverwood three years ago.
She clearly remembered that Olivia had tricked her into going there and drugged her. David had saved her, but she felt so uncomfortable that she kissed David.
However, she quickly regained her senses, pushed David away, and endured the night by soaking in cold water.
Unfortunately, the footage of her kissing David was later uploaded online, causing a huge fight between her and Joseph. Their relationship started to deteriorate from that point.
She had always thought Olivia had secretly recorded the video, but it turned out it had been in David's possession all along.
So, David had deliberately leaked the photos to create conflict between her and Joseph.
David had been scheming against her since they were in Silverwood.
David had hidden his true intentions so deeply and terrifyingly.
She had no idea how many lies David had told her.
Cassie closed the video, trying to calm herself down before searching for more clues.
After searching for a long time without finding any more leads, she was about to give up when she suddenly saw a photo. She clicked on it.
