Chapter 781
Joseph felt very distressed.
He reached out and pulled Cassie into his arms, holding her tightly.
Joseph's intense body heat enveloped Cassie, causing her to instinctively feel a sense of dependence. She couldn't help but clutch the front of Joseph's shirt.
But thinking about how Joseph had just scared her, Cassie reached out and pinched him hard on the chest, "Joseph, you jerk, don't scare me."
Joseph winced in pain, clearly hurt, but when he heard Cassie's sweet voice, he surprisingly didn't get angry at all. As he smelled the fragrance of Cassie's hair and held her soft body, he felt a sense of happiness in his chest.
Sophia's saddened voice interrupted, "You two are hugging each other, leaving me all alone over here."
Cassie blushed, wanting to go over, but the Ferris wheel was still up there, and her legs felt weak.
"Forget it; I don't need you guys; I can do it myself." Sophia turned to look out the window.
Cassie hung her long eyelashes in frustration.
Joseph lowered his head and saw Cassie's eyelashes fluttering like little fans.
Three minutes later, the Ferris wheel descended to two-thirds, and Cassie quickly pulled away from Joseph and sat next to Sophia.
With Joseph's arms now empty, he squinted and said, "This was just the first ride. There's one more to go.
"I don’t want to play it anymore, go ahead, guys." Cassie was genuinely scared, not feeling afraid when she was young and ignorant riding the Ferris wheel, but now, she was truly terrified.
"I don't want to either. It's not enjoyable. I want to go on the boat," Sophia said, already eyeing something more exciting below.
Joseph was very unhappy, but in the end, he had to go down with Sophia and Cassie.
Joseph, Sophia, and Cassie played around the amusement park.
Finally, they found a McDonald's to eat.
Joseph didn't usually visit such places, but today Sophia insisted on going in, so he had to go along.
After Cassie ordered a meal, Joseph, Sophia, and Cassie sat at a window table and began eating. Fast food wasn't Joseph's preference.
He was casually sipping on a Coke when he overheard a conversation between a young couple nearby.
"This chicken nugget is delicious; let me feed you," the girl coaxed as she offered a nugget to the boy.
The boy gave her a weak glare and said, "I see, you're giving me what you don't want to eat."
"Cuz you're my boyfriend, isn't a boyfriend supposed to eat what the girlfriend doesn't want?"
"Being your boyfriend is too painful."
"What did you say?"
"Nothing," the boy sighed and started eating the chicken nugget.
Joseph was suddenly startled. This scene felt very familiar as if he had experienced it before.
Suddenly, a woman's voice echoed in Joseph's mind, 'Why can't you eat what I've eaten? Do you despise me? Don't you love me?'
But before he could delve deeper into his thoughts, a sharp pain struck. The Coke in his hand fell to the ground. His handsome face turned pale with pain.
Sophia and Cassie were startled, both looking at Joseph.
"Uncle Joseph, are you okay?" Sophia looked worried.
"I'm fine. I'll go wash my face." Joseph hurriedly walked towards the restroom.
