Chapter 1488 Megan Was So Angry She Spat Blood
Back in the day, when Michael had gotten kicked out of the Jude Family, he had gone through some rough patches. But back then, he wasn't as lost and helpless. Even if he had nothing, he still had the woman he loved.
Now, though, things were different. Even with Megan by his side, Michael felt like he had nothing.
"Mr. Jude." Magnus walked up, looking disappointed at Michael, who was crouched on the ground with his head in his hands.
Michael looked up, eyes full of confusion and emptiness.
"Mr. Jude, I'm sorry, but this is my resignation letter. I've worked for you for six years, and I wanted to hand it to you personally." Magnus handed over the letter.
Michael glanced at it, then grabbed Magnus by the collar. "Even you want to leave me? No matter how bad things get, I still have the Ocean Blue Group. Tons of people would kill to be my assistant. What, the assistant gig at Ocean Blue Group isn't good enough for you? With your limited skills, only I would keep you."
"It's not that." Magnus lowered his head. "Ocean Blue Group is a big deal in Madison. I was proud when you picked me as your assistant. But I need to leave because of my girlfriend and my parents. You might not know, but your cheating scandal is all over the place, and you've become a public enemy among women. My family says you have poor character, and if I stay with you, I might pick up your bad habits. My girlfriend even said she'd rather I earn less money if it means she can feel secure."
Michael felt like he had heard the most absurd joke, his face turning red with anger. "Don't you know my character? You've been with me for years; you should know what kind of person I am."
Magnus was silent for a moment, then said, "I used to think you were loyal and righteous, willing to go against the grain for love. But later, I realized you lacked responsibility. Frankly, I'm just an assistant, but I've tried to advise you. The fact is, you really did cheat on your wife right after she gave birth. You should have given Miss Ray some money to leave from the start."
"Enough, stop talking." Michael felt a sharp pain. "You can go. I approve your resignation."
"Thank you." Magnus nodded. "Mr. Jude, one last piece of advice: go back to the company soon. Stop spending every day with Miss Ray. Your betrayal has pissed off the women of Madison, and Ocean Blue Group makes its money from them. If you don't handle this PR crisis quickly, the consequences will be unimaginable."
Michael rubbed his temples in frustration.
Magnus continued, "You might not know, but Ocean Blue Group is facing its biggest reputation crisis ever because of you. Many cosmetics companies want a piece of Ocean Blue Group's market share, especially DreamDazzle Beauty Co. They just launched new skincare products and are running big promotions with e-commerce platforms for Christmas. Laura, as the victim, has garnered a lot of sympathy from women. This week, DreamDazzle Beauty Co has been in the top three best-selling cosmetics companies."
"Skincare products?" Michael was stunned. "Aren't they mainly in makeup?"
"Their makeup already has a good reputation. They're using this opportunity to launch skincare products."
Magnus sighed. "Laura, as a formulator, has a great reputation worldwide. People are willing to buy her products. The new skincare products she launched were originally developed for Ocean Blue Group, but after your fallout, and since you didn't sign a contract, it was just a verbal agreement."
Michael was floored.
He vaguely remembered the whole thing.
Back when DreamDazzle Beauty Co had been starting to make waves, Laura had offered to help Ocean Blue Group with new products, bringing her team on board. Their relationship was rock solid back then. He had joked that her formulas were worth billions, and she had laughed, saying she was just helping her husband, asking for a token amount of money. She dreamed of his skincare company and her makeup company ruling the global beauty industry as the ultimate power couple.
Those words still echoed in his ears, but now everything had changed.
After a long pause, he finally spoke in a hoarse voice. "Isn't Laura in the hospital? How can she still manage the company?"
"Cassie is running things now. She used to manage the Peace Group and is pretty aggressive in management and operations. She’s got a lot of connections, and many manufacturers want to work with her. DreamDazzle Beauty Co might have shifted its strategic goals."
Michael didn’t say another word.
Seeing this, Magnus quietly left.
Michael had no idea how long he stood there.
Meanwhile, in the ward, Megan was waiting for Michael to come back.
A nurse came in to give Megan an IV.
Today, a new nurse was on duty, and she messed up the IV on the first try. Megan lost her temper. "Get your head nurse to do it. Doesn't she know who I am? Just anyone can come and give me an IV? Do you not want to work anymore?"
The nurse's face turned cold. "I know who you are, a mistress."
"Mistress? You have a death wish?" Megan immediately sat up, her scarred face looking mean and vicious. "I'll have you fired right away."
In the past, the young nurse might have been scared, but now she didn’t hold back. "Do you really think you can marry the heir of the Jude Group? You're dreaming. The Jude Family doesn't like you at all. This morning, the Jude Group issued a statement that Julia is the new heir of the Jude Group, and the shares have been divided. Michael didn't get a single dollar."
Megan shouted, "Impossible."
"Why would I lie to you? The whole hospital is talking about it. All of Madison knows that Michael cheated on his wife right after she gave birth. The Jude Group has removed him from his position. We've known for a long time that you're the one having an affair with Michael. We just didn’t dare to say it because we were afraid of offending Michael. Now we don't care. The Jude Family doesn't care about Michael anymore."
The young nurse sneered, "We women hate mistresses like you the most. You deserve to be infertile for life."
"What infertility?"
"You don't know? Your body was damaged from the miscarriage. You almost certainly can't get pregnant again."
"Bullshit, get out!"
Megan, enraged like a madwoman, knocked the IV bottle to the ground, shattering it.
But Megan seemed not to hear.
Her mind was filled with the nurse's words.
Julia became the heir of the Jude Group?
Michael was kicked out of the Jude Group?
How could this happen?
Megan wanted to marry the Michael who could inherit the Jude Group.
Now Michael lost his inheritance rights, so how was he any different from before?
Megan was going crazy.
